The 25 poorest countries in the world
African countries dominate the ranking of the 25 poorest countries in the world, according to an analysis by Global Finance Magazine.
Only four countries out of the 25 are not African. They are Afghanistan, Kiribati, Solomon Islands, and Haiti.
Based on data from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the magazine ranked the world's countries according to their GDP based on purchasing power parity per capita.
The PPP takes into account the relative cost of living and the inflation rates of the countries to compare living standards among the different nations.
Some small countries, such as Liechtenstein, Nauru, Vatican City, Monaco, San Marino, and Andorra were not included in the study.
The GDP per capita listed represents the amount of wealth produced in 2015 and is expressed in international dollars. - More
