President Ghani Meets US Congressmen

Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, met with a U.S. Congressional delegation in Presidential Palace on  Wednesday

In this meeting the issues of supporting Afghanistan National Unity Government, economic development, US cooperation to Afghan people, Afghanistan peace process, regional cooperation, Afghanistan water management, and further enhancement of the US-Afghan bilateral relations were discussed.

The US Congressmen assured Washington's support to the Government of National Unity, and expressed their enduring commitment to cooperate with the new government of Afghanistan to reach its long-term objectives.

In return, President Ghani thanked the U.S. government and people for their continued assistance and support to Afghanistan, and urged on US concrete cooperation.

The President continued saying, “We have identified our problem and we bring the solution on the table as well, for which we require international cooperation and support.”  More
