Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan --- Kabul, Afghanistan, 14 June 2014 – In spite of serious security threats, voters were not deterred from casting their ballots in the Presidential Election run-off, held in Afghanistan today. While final figures are yet to be ascertained, preliminary indicators suggest a turnout of more than 7 million voters. -- In accord with the electoral timeline, the IEC will announce preliminary election results on 2 July; and final results on 22 July.
