French President Hollande confirms Trierweiler split --- French President Francois Hollande has confirmed his separation from his partner Valerie Trierweiler. -- He told the state-run AFP news agency that their "shared life" had ended. -- Ms Trierweiler spent a week in hospital after the revelations.
