Arab Daily Blames US for Recent Blasts in Afghanistan - Farsnews

Qatar's al-Raya daily pointed to NATO's intention to increase military forces in Afghanistan under the pretext of preventing the return of terrorism and insecurity to the country, and said the grouping should still operate under the US leadership.

"The complicated nature of the recent huge blasts in Afghanistan showed that they are masterminded by the US spy agencies," it added.

According to the daily, the US wants the European countries to understand that if they withdraw their forces from Afghanistan, the terrorists will grow stronger and they should eventually fight against them in major European cities which will be costlier than the war in Afghanistan.

On May 31, a tanker truck bombing of the Afghan capital’s heavily guarded Wazir Akbar Khan diplomatic sector was followed by a triple suicide attack on a funeral in Kabul and last week’s bombing of a mosque in the western city of Herat.

The three strikes killed at least 180 people and wounded hundreds of others. Almost all of the victims were civilians.

Also, on Friday, at least fourteen people including women and children were wounded in a mortar attack in Eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. - Read More
