Donald Trump doubled down on his claim that "Islam hates us" during Thursday night's GOP debate on CNN.

Asked if he thought that all 1.6 billion Muslims in the world "hate" the United States, Trump responded, "I mean a lot of them, I mean a lot of them."

"There's something going on that maybe you don't know about, maybe a lot of other people don't know about, but there's tremendous hatred and I will stick with exactly what I said," Trump continued.

Trump sparked controversy after saying he believes "Islam hates us," in an interview Wednesday on CNN.
