President Ghani Meets King Salman of Saudi Arabia

On the second day of his visit to Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan left Makkah for Riyadh. 
Upon arrival in Khaled bin Abdul Aziz International Airport, President Ghani and his accompanying delegation was given an unprecedented warm welcome by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Interior Minister Mohammad bin Naif, Amir of Riyadh city Faisal bin Bandar as well as a number of other Amirs and royal ministers.
Later, President Ghani and his delegation attended a reception arranged in honor of the Afghan President by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
Following the reception, President Ghani and King Salman bin Abdul Aziz held a separate meeting where King Abdul Aziz welcomed President Ghani and called Saudi Arabia as the second home for Afghans.
In this meeting, the two leaders stressed on expansion of long term bilateral relations in the areas of economy, security and culture, and hoped that the enhanced ties between the two countries could contribute to establishing peace and security in the region.
King Abdul Aziz reiterated his country’s enduring cooperation with Afghanistan, and pledged to spare no efforts in helping Afghanistan.
Both sides agreed that a joint delegation work on establishing a framework of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The King of Saudi Arabia described the relations between the two countries as the relations between two brotherly Muslim nations, and urged that the trade, investment and cultural cooperation between the two nations can further build on the bilateral ties.
The King said that as a country in which Kabbah e Sharif is located, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was born, Quran was sent, and the Holly Religion of Islam emerged, Saudi Arabia hosts Muslims from around the world in Makkah and Medina and is committed to extend full cooperation to the Muslims.  Read More at President Ghani Meets King Salman
