Hopes for Gordon Brown’s Afghanistan conference fail to meet expectations - Times
Asenior adviser for the Afghan Foreign Minister, Davood Moradian, said that the Afghan Government was committed to the conference but expressed concern at Pakistan Government influence on proceedings.
“We are puzzled as to why David Miliband chose first Islamabad to discuss the London Conference. In other words, we do not feel comfortable about the prospects of the Pakistanisation of London’s Afghan policy. This would mean forcing Afghanistan to choose between Islamabad and New Delhi.
