Karzai has lost legitimacy: Ashraf Ghani

WASHINGTON (PAN): Ashraf Ghani, a prospective candidate for the upcoming Afghan presidential elections later this year, Sunday said President Hamid Karzai has lost legitimacy to rule.

Ghani said the extent of corruption is massive and well documented. "This is the overall feeling (among the people). Tolerance if this weather tacitly or actively has become part of the problem," he said, adding that people do not see improvements in their lives.

"Afghan culture is very string in notions of fair play and justice. This is thousands years old. That notion of justice and fair play is deeply wounded.
