Global Action Needed, Says World Bank

WASHINGTON -- Leaders of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank called for swift, coordinated action on the global financial crisis.

World Bank President Robert Zoellick said in a separate briefing that the Group of Seven major economic powers need to take steps to combat the financial turmoil and to help poor countries deal with their problems.
